The song that gave the name to the band. Recorded at Spirit Studios in Manchester in 1983. Recorded as 1000 Thrills the band then consisted of Martin Tivnan (Vocals), Kev Brady (Bass), Martin O'Brien (Drums) an Brendan Chesterton (Guitar). For a fuller explanation of the ideas behind the song see here.
Recorded under the name 1000 Thrills this track was one of three recorded at Spirit Studios in Manchester in 1983. As with many other songs it only stayed in our set list a short time. We must have played it at the infamous COMANCHE Students' Union gig where Martin got threatened by an audience member.
Fat Man by 1000 Thrills was the 3rd track on the Lost Spirit Studios Tape. Technically not lost, but in a cupboard for 34 years. The tape had to be specially baked to stop the iron oxide stripping off the plastic backing. The result is as you hear. Fat Man was our funky number at a time when every band had one, and not a bad attempt at that. Kudos to Martin O'Brien for the top drums performance on this track.
