Pre-gig slide show of all BAWL influences. Can. you name every one?
Taking on keyboard duties for the July 13th BAWL reunion at Night People is Emily Owen. Emily is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music and has been passionate about playing piano since the age of 3.
Emily has already performed in several international tours, the most recent with Manchester band New Order as keyboard player and backing vocalist in the band's 12 piece Synthesiser Orchestra. The tour took her to Vienna, Austria and Turin, Italy. The tour is documented in the film 'Decades' shown on Sky Arts and recently released on DVD. Emily is shown performing and being interviewed.

Martin writes: First of a series of short theatre performances in Rouen, France. Sunday Morning and Piensa En Mii (originally sung by Luz Casal). Esther is Catalan, which explains the Nico resemblance on the Velvet cover and why we do a number of Spanish songs. I’m actually sitting down because I couldn’t find the guitar strap!
Here's a very rare video from the day. Shot in and around Manchester it features Martin, Alison Thomas as the Chauffeur and some unknown female interviewer. Thanks to Kev Brady for unearthing this timeless classic!

Martin Briars - far right
Band bio as supplied to Firestation Records and included in their Sound of Lemington Spa Vol 8 CD and vinyl release. by Martin Briars.
Some people have asked where I recorded Legacy Volume 1. Well it was in my humble back bedroom converted to an Office/Studio. It's pretty cramped and I've tried swinging next door's cat round in it and it kept hitting the walls, but it's an OK place to work. Here's a brief video so you can see.
Cover of the Echo and the Bunnymen song I did initially as a backing track but then completed as a song in its own right. As a band was loved Ian McCulloch and Echo and the Bunnymen and in fact he came to see us play once at a club in Manchester. The full story of that is in the booklet of the CD version on Legacy Vol 1
